Starting Point Survey

It’s time to figure out your starting point! Answering these questions will help you and your bible study partner personalize this journey. No two souls are alike, so let’s figure out what your soul is like!

None of this will be new information to God and he’s head over heels in love with you so be as honest as possible as you examine yourself. The first part of the survey will be submitted to your local church so someone awesome can follow up with you and encourage you on your journey. The second part should be written down in your Field Guide so you can share it with your bible study partner.

Next, answer these questions in your Field Guide for self reflection and so your bible study partner can help personalize these personal bible studies when you meet up.

Spiritual Timeline:

Write down significant moments in your life that have affected your walk with God.

  • For example: What has your past experience with church been? Has it been positive? Did you participate in any religious ceremonies? Baptism, Confirmation? “Praying Jesus into your heart”? Altar calls? Any other spiritual events you would include…

  • What do you believe the bible says about how to be in a saving relationship with God?
  • What questions do you have about what the bible says on the subject of salvation?

Strengths and Weaknesses:

  • When you think about your faith life, what is one of your best memories or experiences?
  • How would you like to improve your walk with God?
  • What do you hope to learn from studying the bible?

  • How important would you say God is in your life? Why?
  • How important is it to be connected to a group of believers?

  • Take a moment to pray about and write down any questions you might have for your bible study partner.
