Now that you know what the bible says being a Christian is like, it’s time to get immersed in the bible’s plan for our salvation – to find out what becoming a Christian entails.
“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” – Peter (Acts 2:38) telling the first ever crowd of would be Christians how to become saved.
With all the different ways that God’s plan of salvation is presented in churches today, we might start to think that the bible is unclear on this subject or that God left it up to us to figure out how to receive the gift of salvation. If we look to the scriptures, however, there is no grey area. God would never leave us guessing about how we can receive the salvation that his son died to secure!
Unfortunately, many have ignored the bible’s clear teaching and adopted practices based on tradition, sentimentality or convenience that are not found in scripture. May this week’s study help you see once and for all what the bible says about how we receive forgiveness of sin, the Holy Spirit, and life eternal.
